Albert Gore Research Center

Internship & Volunteer Opportunities

Bart Gordon Papers Summer Internship (Paid)

The Gore Center hopes to provide an archives internship each summer for the Bart Gordon Papers. The internship will be open to any public history, archives, or MLIS graduate student.

Other internship and volunteer opportunities

The Gore Center is pleased to have interns and volunteers work with us throughout the year. We provide our interns with meaningful projects that support the center’s mission and achieve the individual goals of the intern, whether that be archives experience, hands-on learning with historical materials, curation of exhibits, research projects, oral history practice, and more. Course credit is usually available for internship positions. Ask your major department for information on obtaining course credit.

To provide the best possible internship experience, the Gore Center follows the guidelines set forth by the Society of American Archivists: Best Practices for Internships as a Component of Graduate Archival Education.

We also welcome MTSU students and members of the surrounding community to volunteer with us if we have available work. Please contact us for both internship and volunteer opportunities.
