Biographical Note: E. May Saunders was a music teacher and the head of the Music Department at the Middle Tennessee Normal School. She was also a president of the Frances Bohannon Music Club. The Saunders Juvenile Music Club was founded in 1934 with Irene Morton as club counselor. Irene Morton was also Supervisor of Public School Music in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Scope and Content: The Saunders Juvenile Music Club Papers include a small yearbook dated 1937–1938, which provides a list of officers, a calendar of events, a club membership list, and the constitution and by-laws for the club. The papers also include two scrapbooks, 1941–1942 and 1943–1944, which include news clippings about the club, as well as photographs of musicians. In addition to the yearbook and scrapbooks, there is a wooden plaque labeled “Saunders Juvenile Music Club 1941–1942.”
