Biographical Note: Albert Gore was born in Jackson County, Tennessee, on December 26, 1907. Gore ran a successful campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives and in 1939, he began a thirty-two-year career representing Tennessee in Congress, fourteen years in the House of Representatives and eighteen years in the Senate.
