Biographical Note: Since 1881 the American Association of University Women has been the nation's leading voice promoting education and equity for women and girls. AAUW is a company of women who share a vision in advancing education for women, by being part of a network of women who not only strive to make a difference locally, but also nationally. Members include women who have received a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
The Murfreesboro Branch, established in 1957, is dedicated to advancing educational equity for women and girls, sponsoring research by and about women and girls, and acting as advocates for women in the legal and political spheres.  They welcome all professional and business women who care about education for women. Their activities include raising funds for local and national scholarships.  They also cooperate with other community organizations to create opportunities for girls including "Expanding Your Horizons," the science and mathematics fair for middle school girls.
