Primary and Secondary Sources

Secondary Source: Books

This book, published in 2001, is a secondary source.  Remember, that the images in the book (not the text) may be considered primary sources depending upon their use.  As a secondary source, this book was created by selecting and arranging information available from primary and other secondary sources.

Is it useful to have the primary sources assembled into a book?  In what ways?

Are there any drawbacks to using only secondary sources to gather information?  (Did the authors of this book include all of the primary sources available or do you think that they selected certain photos from all of those that were available?)
